IreneSofia is a self-taught graphic artist whose spectacular, larger-than-life self portraiture brings a sense of joyous radiance into every room.

Using Self Portraiture as Medicine, she is able to intuitively ask the right questions as she spontaneously captures the moment.
By going deep into the thought of the moment and the image it creates, she allows herself to release those belief systems which no longer serve her. This is her medicine. She is healed by it to live her life in joy.
IreneSofia’s images are often bold statements about personal courage, strength, and perseverance; reflecting on a lifetime of living with the effects of polio. Yet her joy of being alive is what shines through with grace and ecstasy.
The Ofrenda is a sacred offering honoring the unbroken connection between the living an those who have crossed over.
It is said that on November 1 (Dia de los Muertos), the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead grows thin, allowing our ancestors to cross back into this realm. The ofrenda becomes a spiritual bridge, lovingly prepared to entice them home with beauty, fragrance, food, and light.
Each element carries deep meaning: marigolds, or cempasúchil, guide the spirits with their color and scent; candles shine as beacons along their path; water and food offer nourishment for the journey; pan de muerto represents the sacred cycle of life and death; and photos and mementos call forth their unique essence. Together, these offerings speak a language of remembrance and devotion, affirming that our ancestors live on through spirit and memory.
